What's the process for getting a puppy?
Askin Havanese maintains a very limited breeding program, with occasional puppies from health tested parents available to qualified homes.
Because each puppy born at Askin Havanese is an extension of our hearts, we do our best to ensure that each of our puppies goes to a high-quality pet or show home that will care for, adore, love, and appreciate their newest family member. Every potential forever home must submit a detailed application and potential owners will be screened and interviewed. Appropriateness of puppy placements are at the sole discretion of Askin Havanese.
In addition, new owners are required to sign an extensive contract that includes expectations for care, instructions for the future, and details about your on-going relationship with your puppy and Askin Havanese.
In order to provide the best start possible for your puppy, puppies will only be available to go to their forever home after 10 weeks of age. Also, each puppy will be microchipped, will have had their hearing tested, and will have received their first round of vaccines. In addition, new puppy owners will be provided with detailed health records, suggested vaccine schedules, and information sheets describing suggested necessary supplies, as well as ongoing support for questions that might arise in the future.
